Sunny Singapore AT LAST!
Well, thought I'll never learn to appreaciate the sunny tropical land of Singapore until today. We had an unusual 4 days of non-stop rain here in Singapore. Most times of the year, weather is hot and humid here. The rain started since Saturday and didn't stop till this morning. It is still bright and sunny now as I wrote.
Just yesterday evening, there were floods reported at land area particularly around upper thomson area where the nursuries are. The floods were up to waist high...this was unheard of since I was born!!
Anyway, was I glad to see the morning sun today after 4 days of gloom and darkness in the early mornings.... and the best part is the air is nice, cool and fresh!

Help these dogs...Ming Ming & Lucas
Hi All,
Ming Ming is a stray dog that got hit by a car and now needing medical attention. Kind souls are helping her in terms of medical needs and care.

Lucas is a lovely boy looking for a new home. Before rehoming him, they need to board him at a doggie care center.

These two dogs are lucky to have find such kind souls that can help. If you are able to help, pls get in touch with jaclynx@singnet.com.sg .
Here's the email appeal:
=====
Dear all
Thank you for your kind support along our way with our dogs like Abbie, Ming Ming and many other nameless ones on the streets, whose life is made better cos of your thoughts, your time, your donations.
To date, we have managed to raise $1405 for Ming Ming's medical bills. The estimate breakdown of her bills are:
1. 1st consult at AMK Vet: $40+
2. 2nd consult, X-Ray and medication at Pet Clinic: $320+
3. 3rd consult and medication at Pet Clinic: $90+
3. Operation and medication at Pet Clinic: $980+
4. Follow up in mid-Dec: estimate $100+
* Thus, we are currently short of about $100+ to cover her next follow-up visit.
I always believe that we will always have enough for our needs, for our needy animals out there. Once again, we are making it through! I believe we will receive more donations to cover Ming Ming's next vet check.
For those of you who have contributed, we would like you to know that every little bit adds up! Do not underestimate the power of just $10 or $20. All this kindness add up to what we need for each case. Thank you so very much. I'll be passing you your official receipt as well as copies of the vet bills when I receive them.

* As we move along, we seek your support for LUCAS:
We have moved Lucas to Animal Lovers' League (ALL) yesterday after considering his present needs and our main intention: to find him a good home.
http://www.animalloversleague.com/
- At ALL, Lucas will be able to roam free in the compound after a short familiarisation period in the kennel. ALL accords him a certain measure of freedom that normal boarding kennels may not. And being such an exuberant fellow, he'll welcome all the space and freedom he can get. Boarding at a kennel with no runs will only make him pudgier and more pent-up, which really does him no good.
- Being at ALL also offers Lucas more chances of being seen by families who visit ALL and the adjourning dog run each weekend. This will in turn raise his chances of finding a genuine home. We are confident that Lucas will soon have a responsible and loving family to call his own.
* Boarding at ALL for Lucas will cost $130/month. We hope to find him a home in the next 3 to 4 months. We hereby seek your support in sponsoring his boarding fees. Any amount is much appreciated, partial or for 1 or more months.
Cheque:
Please cross your cheque to "ANIMAL LOVERS LEAGUE". On the back of your cheque, please state your name, address, contacts (email or phone) clearly so that I can arrange with ALL to send you a receipt. Please send the cheque to: Block 412 Sembawang Drive #08-740 S750412.
Bank Transfer:
If bank transfer is more convenient for you, pls email me and I'll provide more details for transfer. Official receipts will be sent for all donations.
Lucas should be running free in ALL compound by next weekend or so. By then, do feel free to drop by and visit him! If you know good potential adopters, let me know and we will arrange to see Lucas there.
On behalf of Lucas, and moving along, one dog at a time, THANK YOU.

Disappointment? Not so....
Went for my yoga class last friday and all ready to start my class only to have found out that I didn't bring my yoga pants!! I tried so hard to think if I have shorts or any extra pants in my car but NO NO....i was really disappointed. Waking up 2 hrs then I usually would just to go for my yoga classes is a joy and to my carelessness last week, I forgot to pack my pants. Well, I thought to myself, maybe the staff there have got pants for people like me!! Maybe i could get a new pair of pants there....well, to my utter dismay, nothing for me! The shop is closed, it's too early, it's 7am, nobody opens up their shops at 7am.....
Afterwhich, I reluctantly took my shower and get ready for work.....I thought to myself, what good can this come out to. I refuse to get negativity in my way, I thought long and hard to think about what I can do with the spare hr that I have in my hand that morning....well, I was delighted when I thought of what I can do!!
Well, went to have my favourite katong laksa at Holland village. Had my morning cuppa tea and a nice cool quiet morning all by myself just enjoying the morning birds chirpping and seeing people go along in the morning. I noticed that people who wake up in the morning, that early, are hardly in a rush. Unlike the peak hrs period that we are used to. I guess they took the opportunity to be early to hit the road and not get trapped by traffic (human or cars).... very clever indeed. Try it one day, it's tough to be up earlier but you'd feel the big difference on your way to work or anywhere...it's slow, easy, no rush......
I was totally satisfied with my breakfast and was at work really early that day even with my slow morning breakfast with my favourite food.....
I learnt couple of lessons that day.
1) Always have SPARE YOGA CLOTHES in my bag AT ALL TIME
2) In all "bad" situations, think of this "What good can this do to me?", it will force us to think and be creative and turn lousy situations around in spilt second!!
It's really precious life lessons I have learnt today and I will remember to ask myself this question when "bad" things befall unexpectatly....
Do likewise, it's fun and it's all a matter of perspective and how we create our lives to me.....we are only as happy as we can make ourselves to me....
Cheers!! Happy Shopping for Christmas!

He loves me very much BUT he does get mad when I can't sit still for him to take more glamour shots of me. Daddy must learn quickly that sitting still is a very challenging feat for a curious puppy like me. You can read more about my story at my daddy's blog site. See u all at daddy's blog page!
